u Introducing E.P.I.C.! The Euthanasia Public Information Campaign needs your help in educating your community about the dangers of euthanasia and assisted suicide. This campaign utilizes the book and documentary, Death As A Salesman, as the basis for presentations to pro-life groups, churches, and other organizations. You have the opportunity to lead a discussion or simply include the material in your local library. These materials have been proven to change public opinion and even prevent pro-death legislation! Life is EPIC, be a part of it!
u The House of Representatives has passed the bill requiring girls under the age of 18 to notify their parents before traveling to another state to have an abortion. The Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act (H.R. 748) passed April 27th on a bipartisan vote of 270-157. The bill next moves to the Senate. While the House has passed a version of the bill on two prior occasions, the Senate has never voted on it -- in part because pro-abortion lawmakers have held it up. Contact your Senators and urge them to support this bill!
u
Assisted Suicide is threatening California now more than
ever! The
CA Assembly Judiciary Committee has endorsed the bill to permit
physician-assisted suicide, which
moves next to the Assembly's Appropriations Committee before a floor vote expected
in May.
u In a world so intent on ending the lives of the medically vulnerable, we love to celebrate when life triumphs! Read about the firefighter who suddenly spoke up after nearly ten years of silent semi-consciousness!

WHAT'S HAPPENING AT CPLC:
u CPLC held its annual California ProLife Youth Oratory Contest state finals last weekend, and it was a smashing success! Our three finalists, Cedina, Simone, and Jonathan, offered three very different speeches on all of the optional topics: abortion, euthanasia, and stem-cell research. It was a tough decision for our panel of judges, but we are proud to be sending our winner, Cedina, to the national contest held at the NRLC Convention in Minneapolis, MN. Congratulations to all three students for a job well done and a big thank you to our fantastic judges and helpers! Come join us next year!
u You won't want to miss CPLC Director Brian Johnston's upcoming presentation:

As A Salesman: What's Wrong With Assisted Suicide" and AB

opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference.
The opposite of art is not ugliness, it's indifference.
The opposite of faith is not heresy, it's indifference.
And the opposite of life is not death, it's indifference."
