CURRENT LIFE ISSUES:
u President Bush has vowed that federal funds will not be used to support research that requires killing human embryos, but the U.S. House of Representatives may soon vote on bills that would overturn the President’s pro-life policy; a vote could occur before the end of May. If H.R. 810 is passed, your tax dollars will be used to fund this destructive and unethical research! Time is running out- your help is needed! Get all the facts and communicate with your representative in the U.S. House, urge them to oppose H.R. 810!
u
Recent
polling data shows that when assisted suicide is
presented without any advocacy language from proponents,
the issue starts out with less than majority support. A
new Gallup poll shows that only 49% of people found
doctor assisted suicide “acceptable” and 42% found it
“wrong”. When both sides of
the debate are aired, public support of physician assisted
suicide drops dramatically. The
Euthanasia Public Information Campaign was created to educate
communities
about the dangers of euthanasia and assisted suicide; this
campaign utilizes the book and documentary, Death As A
Salesman, as the basis for presentations to pro-life groups,
churches, and other organizations. Learn
more about EPIC and find out how YOU can change public opinion!
u The U.S. Senate is fast approaching a razor-close vote over the question of whether Senate Democrats will continue to be allowed to filibuster to block approval of President Bush's judicial nominees. The Senate will soon decide whether a judicial nominee should be able to achieve confirmation if he or she enjoys the support of a simple majority of the Senate, which is the position supported by pro-life Senator Majority Leader Bill Frist and most Republican senators. Appeal to your senators to support putting an end to filibusters of nominees to federal judgeships!
