CURRENT LIFE ISSUES:

u True to character, Planned Parenthood is attempting to turn a holiday celebrating a birth into a fundraising opportunity to support abortion. The abortion giant is encouraging its members to "send a holiday gift with real meaning," telling potential donors they can choose from one of five "Choice on Earth" Christmas cards. They offer donors the opportunity to make a contribution in honor of a friend or relative and send them a pro-abortion Christmas card as an acknowledgment. Read the complete story.

u The inside of your nose is more important than you may give it credit for! British researchers are finding success in using adult stem cells found in the lining of the nose to treat spinal cord injuries. There have been no clinical trials of embryonic stem cells and spinal cord injury patients. The adult cells far surpass their unethically-gathered counterparts because they can be taken directly from the patient, and thus won't be rejected by their immune system. Other experiments with embryonic stem cell transplants have led to rejection, tumors, and other failures. For more information on the promises of adult stem cell research and the dangers of cloning and embryonic stem cell research, check out CPLC's documentary, The Human Experiment.

u Assembly member Patti Berg is planning to reintroduce her euthanasia legislation in January. This past year, your efforts were successful in preventing Berg and other euthanasia advocates from gaining a majority of support in either the Assembly or the Senate! We plan on doing so again in 2006 and are already preparing fight this bill. Learn more about euthanasia and Berg's deadly bill here!
