u President Bush has vowed that federal funds will not be used to support research that requires killing human embryos, but the U.S. House of Representatives may soon vote on bills that would overturn the President’s pro-life policy. According to a House Republican leadership aide, a vote could occur before the end of May.  Your help is needed! Learn more about this bill, and communicate with your representative in the U.S. House, urge them to oppose H.R. 810!

u The U.S. Senate is fast approaching a razor-close vote over the question of whether Senate Democrats will continue to be allowed to filibuster to block approval of President Bush's judicial nominees.  The Senate will soon decide whether a judicial nominee should be able to achieve confirmation if he or she enjoys the support of a simple majority of the Senate, which is the position supported by pro-life Senator Majority Leader Bill Frist and most Republican senators. Appeal to your senators to support putting an end to filibusters of nominees to federal judgeships!

u Introducing E.P.I.C.! The Euthanasia Public Information Campaign needs your help in educating your community about the dangers of euthanasia and assisted suicide. This campaign utilizes the book and documentary, Death As A Salesman, as the basis for presentations to pro-life groups, churches, and other organizations.  You have the opportunity to lead a discussion or simply include the material in your local library.  These materials have been proven to change public opinion and even prevent pro-death legislation! Life is EPIC, be a part of it!

u Assisted Suicide is threatening California!  which moves next to the Assembly's Appropriations Committee before a floor vote expected in May. The 'safeguards' built in to this bill are few and faulty and there are serious risks involved!  Governor Schwarzenegger has not yet taken an official position on AB 654; CPLC has materials in Spanish and English that make it easy to communicate with him and other legislators about this issue.  Find out how to encourage legislators to oppose this bill!
