REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL
CANDIDATES ONLY WANT PRO-LIFE NOMINEE ON ABORTION
Washington, DC -- During the latest Republican presidential debate
on Monday night, there weren't many fireworks over abortion or bioethics
issues. Instead, there appeared to be a consensus that some of the GOP
candidates will only support a pro-life nominee and want the person who
represents the party to oppose abortion. Senator Sam Brownback of Kansas
said he would support the nominee because he has no doubt it will be
someone who is pro-life, which excludes pro-abortion ex-mayor Rudy
Giuliani. "I believe that the person that's going to lead the party will
be somebody that is pro-growth and pro-life," he said. "I think these
are two pivotal, key foundation issues that this country needs to stand
for."

SAM BROWNBACK TELLS
IOWANS ABORTION IS BIGGEST MORAL ISSUE IN POLITICS
Dubuque, IA -- Sam Brownback continued to press the pro-life
themes of his Republican presidential campaign in a stop in Iowa on
Thursday. The Kansas senator said abortion is the greatest moral issue
in politics and shared the story of his adoptive daughters with the
crowd of 100 people at Loras College. Brownback discussed his "pro-life,
whole life" theme that includes protecting people both born and unborn.
"This is the biggest moral issue of the day," he said, referring to
abortion. "We've killed over 40 million people that should be here." The
senator also discussed his two adoptive children and how they came from
nations where abortion and infanticide have targeted girl babies. He
also said the women who have had abortions and regret their decision
have the greatest chance to break the gridlock over abortion in the U.S.
and persuade more people to support the pro-life position.
MASSACHUSETTS
COUNCIL REPEALS ROMNEY-ERA STEM CELL RESEARCH LIMITS
Boston, MA -- The Massachusetts Public Health Council has reversed a
rule put in place during the gubernatorial administration of Mitt Romney
that prohibited scientists from creating human embryos for the purpose
of destroying them for research. Romney put the rule in place shortly
before announcing his bid for the GOP nod for president. The vote was no
surprise as the panel members are comprised of those appointed by
Governor Deval Patrick, who promised he would undo the Romney rule when
he ran in 2006. Harold Cox, an associate dean at Boston University
School of Public Health, claims letting scientists create and kill human
beings for research would advance science in the state.

HILLARY
CLINTON WOULD REVERSE BUSH'S EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH RULES
Washington,
DC -- Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said
Thursday that one of her first actions if she wins the 2008 election
will be reversing President Bush's protections on embryonic stem cell
research. Bush has twice vetoed bills that would force taxpayers to fund
the research, which requires the destruction of human life. Bush
also put in place a policy in August 2001 that prevents federal funding
of any new embryonic stem cell research and, instead, concentrates most
federal money in the area of adult stem cells. Those
are the cells that have shown the most promise in treating patients, as
embryonic stem cell research has encountered significant problems such
as immune system rejection issues. Still,
she called the limits and protections Bush has instituted a "ban on
hope." "The
Bush administration has declared war on science," Clinton claimed
in an address to the Carnegie Institution for Science. "When I am
president, scientific integrity will not be the exception it will be the
rule." Source:

WORLDWIDE ILLEGAL
ABORTION STUDY RELIES ON BOGUS AND BIASED STATISTICS
Opinion -- LifeNews.com Note: Steven Mosher is
President of the
Population Research Institute
The abortion fundamentalists at the Alan Guttmacher Institute have an ax
to grind. Guttmacher styles itself the "research arm of Planned
Parenthood," but it may more properly be called its lobbying arm.
In its new report on abortions worldwide, Guttmacher makes several
claims. These fall into two broad, overlapping categories. The first
consists of ploys to raise more funds for the population
control-abortion crowd. The second, intended to pander to radical
feminists, consists of veiled pleas to legalize abortion, couched in the
form of arguments. Guttmacher claims that the number of induced
abortions worldwide declined from nearly 46 million to under 42 million
between 1995 and 2003. "Significantly, the abortion rate for 2003 was
roughly equal in developed and developing regions ... despite abortion
being largely illegal in developing regions." In actual fact,
neither Guttmacher nor anyone else knows how many abortions have been
performed worldwide in this year or any other year. Guttmacher's numbers
may be reasonably accurate for countries with socialized medicine, like
Great Britain, where accurate records are kept. But for other developed
countries, like the United States, they are at best educated guesses.
Abortion may be legal, but its proponents have kept it deliberately
shrouded in secrecy. Source: LifeNews, October 12,

LIBERALS
LIE, CHILDREN DIE
Townhall
Column by Kevin McCullough -- At
this very moment one of the most liberal organizations in our nation has
fraudulent papers before a court in the Midwest awaiting permission to
begin the systematic slaughter of innocent children on Tuesday. Using
false pretense, misdirected answers on applications, and fraudulent
forms Planned Parenthood is awaiting word to see if it will be allowed
to open a super-butchery in Aurora, Illinois this coming Tuesday. The
situation highlights a new trend for the tax-payer subsidized
organization that is now resorting to lying to municipalities and their
populations in order to set up shop, hack women's uteruses and slice
children's bodies like lunchmeat. Some of the children just inches from
birth. The way it works is first they set-up a phony name for a phony
company. In the Aurora, Illinois case they filed their fraudulent
permits under the name of Gemini Office Management Corporation.
Pretending to be a neutral landlord, they then asserted on the forms
requesting the construction permits that the "tenant is
unknown." With the municipality duped, the residents of
Aurora feel betrayed. Several reports have emanated from the region
demonstrating that even people who do not normally protest abortion
publicly are outraged and feel that they have been lied to. And they
should feel this way, because they have. Source: Townhall,

GROUPS DECEIVE LATIN AMERICAN NATIONS, HISPANIC LEADER SAYS
Washington, DC -- A pro-abortion group based in the United States
has released a new report claiming that pro-life laws in Latin American
countries, specifically Nicaragua, are hurting women. However, a leading
Hispanic activist says abortion advocacy groups located outside the
region are deceiving Latino people. Abortion
advocates have been successful in getting Mexico City to legalize
abortion and they are targeting nations like Nicaragua, Brazil, and
others to weaken their pro-life laws. On
Tuesday, the U.S.-based pro-abortion group Human Rights Watch released a
report on Tuesday claiming the complete abortion ban Nicaragua has
adopted is causing human rights abuses. The
group's new report, titled “Over Their Dead Bodies," supposedly
documents how the abortion ban has made women afraid to seek legal
reproductive health services. Raimundo
Rojas, the Hispanic outreach director for National Right to Life, tells
LifeNews.com that's not the case. "Those
of us who regularly do battle with the extremist pro-abortion groups
such as the Catholics for a Free Choice and groups heralded by
mainstream media as legitimate watch dog groups such as Human Rights
Watch have sadly learned that we have to take every thing coming from
them not just with a grain of salt, but quite possibly an entire salt
mine," Rojas said. "The
numbers and statistics and stories now being promulgated by these
people, who have as much disdain for the truth as they do human life,
has to be weighed against their last big putsch in Latin America when
they waved the banner of injustice over one Carmen Clamico," Rojas
added. Source:

PREDICTS BREAST CANCER BETTER THAN OTHER FACTORS, STUDY SHOWS
London,
England -- A new study published in the Journal of American
Physicians and Surgeons yesterday finds that abortion is the best
predictor of whether women will contract breast cancer. Abortion also is
a better indicator of future breast cancer issue than six other commonly
used factors. Patrick
Carroll of the Pension and Population Research Institute in London
conducted this new study and showed that countries with higher abortion
rates, such as England & Wales, could expect a substantial increase
in breast cancer incidence. "Induced
abortion is found to be the best predictor, and fertility is also a
useful predictor," he writes. "The increase in breast cancer
incidence appears to be best explained by an increase in abortion rates,
especially nulliparous abortions, and lower fertility." Source:

MAYOR MICHAEL BLOOMBERG ACCUSED OF PREGNANCY DISCRIMINATION
New
York, NY-- New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has long been one
of the most staunch abortion advocates in the country, going as far as
requiring all medical students there to learn how to do abortions. Now
the businesses executive is accused of fostering a climate of pregnancy
discrimination at his financial information company. The
Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has filed a lawsuit
against Bloomberg saying he has fostered and condoned "systemic,
top-down discrimination against female employees." Three
women who are high-level executives at Bloomberg brought the pregnancy
discrimination lawsuit against the mayor. Tanys
Lancaster, Janet Loures and Jill Patricot said they were subjected to
unfair demotions and decreased compensation and were denied advancement
after becoming pregnant. Source:

GROUP RELEASES LIST OF PRO-ABORTION LOCAL BUSINESSES TO BOYCOTT
Washington,
DC -- A pro-life group that has successfully led a national boycott
of businesses that provide charitable contributions to Planned
Parenthood has released a list of local businesses that do the same
thing. The boycotts have cost the nation's largest abortion business
millions in donations. Life
Decisions International on Wednesday told LifeNews.com that the list of
local pro-abortion businesses comes at the request of pro-life people
who want to have a more local impact. "The
local/regional boycott List identifies companies that do business in a
limited area," LDI president Douglas Scott said. "We
urge pro-life people to take a local approach. These are businesses that
may operate in your home town or in your state/province," he
explained. "It is important that pro-life people let the owners of
these establishments know how disappointed they are by the owners'
philanthropic choices." Source: Life
