“The Battle of Ideas” Elections 2010

A wise man once said, “What we do today echoes in history” and history my friends, is about to be made. This election holds tremendous possibility for California. Our lineup of pro-life Candidates has never been so strong or so crucial in impacting our state for Life. This election holds a weighty battle of great proportions. This November, pro-life Candidate Carly Fiorina will go neck and neck with Barbara Boxer for a duel that YOU can help end victoriously.  An avid abortion activist, Barbara Boxer is currently holds office of one of the most significant leaders influencing our state and nation.

This election however, California has hope. Hope in the form of ProLife candidate Carly Fiorina. Unlike Boxer, Fiorina stands true to protecting innocent life and has the experience as well as the wisdom to back up her convictions. As Marty Wilson, Carly Fiorina’s campaign manager explains "Carly is not running away from her views, but chooses to stay focused on the issues that matter most to voters.

Fiorina’s commitments, contrary to Boxer’s, stands for Life in three respects. Every election, here at California ProLife we personally contact each candidate and request a survey to uncover their ProLife position. Carly Fiorina’s response on issues was golden. She stands firm with by answering with a strong “yes” she supports the legal protection for unborn children, the need for parental consent before an abortion can be performed on a minor child, and she aslo opposes the efforts promoting a state policy of euthanasia such as “physician assisted suicide.”

Also this election it is essential that we elect and re-elect pro-life members of Congress to repeal the abortion and rationing program of ObamaCare. There are some promising new candidates such as Van Tran and David Harmer. As well as solid long term pro-life candidates in need of re-election, such as: Dan Lungren and Tom McClintock. This November is crucial especially if we are to have hope of repealing the ObamaCare plan.

Do You Understand the Facts About the New ObamaCare Law?

If you’re ill-informed about the ObamaCare Law, here’s a little background.

This law is disguised with eloquent words that often seem appealing, but digging deeper it’s clear there are hidden agendas intertwined. On March 2010, President Obama signed into law a fundamental restructuring of the American health care system. What will happen under this law if it not repealed by sometime in 2014?

A Powerful Rationing Commission:

An 18-member “Independent Payment Advisory Board” is given the duty, on January 15, 2015 and every two years thereafter, with regard to private (not just governmentally funded) health care, to make “recommendations to slow the growth in national health expenditures” below the rate of medical inflation.

How the Federal Government Will Force Doctors to Limit Care:

The Commission’s recommendations are to be ones “that the Secretary [of Health and Human Services] or other Federal agencies can implement administratively.” In turn, the Secretary of Health and Human Services is empowered to impose “quality and efficiency measures on hospitals, requiring them to report on their compliance with them. Doctors will have to comply with such quality measures in order to be able to contract with any qualified health insurance plan.

What This Will Mean for Your Family’s Health Care:

Basically doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers will be told by Washington just what diagnostic tests and medical care are considered to meet “quality and efficiency” standards –not only for federally funded programs like Medicare, but also for health care paid for by private citizens and their nongovernmental health insurance.

These will be standards specifically designed to limit what ordinary Americans may choose to spend on health care so that it is BELOW the rate of medical inflation. Treatment that a doctor and patient deem needed or advisable to save that patient’s life or preserve and improve the patient’s health but which runs afoul of the imposed standards will be denied, even if the patient is willing and able to pay for it.

In effect, there will be one uniform national standard of care, established by Washington bureaucrats and set with a view to limiting what private citizens are allowed to spend on saving their own lives.

How The ObamaCare Plan Influences the Election

By electing courageous pro-life leaders who oppose the ObamaCare Plan and truly stand up for Life , California will be taking dynamic strides to working through the law to change the law. The truth is we need pro-life candidates in office to do that – and you can help do that!

Elections are essentially a battle of ideas. This November ideas with very serious consequences are on the table. As a pro-life citizen in California you have a tremendous responsibility and opportunity to stand up for Life. By educating yourself and others on these political ideas you make a world of difference. It can be as nominal as distributing political literature, or simply practicing your civic right to vote – lives will be changed. But we NEED TO TAKE ACTION.
