NATIONAL RIGHT TO LIFE PLEASED BY McCAIN

STATEMENT ON ROE V. WADE

Yesterday at a campaign stop in Spartanburg , South Carolina , presidential candidate Senator John McCain said he did not support Roe v. Wade.  Roe v. Wade is the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion on demand for any reason.

The following statement, in response, has been issued by the National Right to Life Committee, the nation’s largest pro-life organization:

“National Right to Life is pleased with Senator McCain’s statement.  Roe v. Wade has resulted in the deaths of 48 million unborn children and should be reversed once again allowing legislative bodies to protect unborn children and their mothers.”

The National Right to Life Committee is the nation’s largest pro-life group with affiliates in all 50 states and over 3,000 local chapters nationwide.  National Right to Life works through legislation and education to protect those threatened by abortion, infanticide, euthanasia and assisted suicide.
