Dear Friend of Life,

I know I cried a little last Saturday. Ronald Reagan had passed on to the next life. He was my hero.

Ronald Reagan will be remembered as one of the 20th century's greatest presidents.

Over the past few days, I heard a lot about the end of the Cold War, his ability to speak to the American people and his long career in the public eye.

But as you and I know, he has been routinely defamed by the liberal press, and vilified for his principles, particularly for his commitment to Life.

Then I heard one commentator explain that Reagan really didn't emphasize issues like abortion. I was stunned. Reagan was unabashed in his defense of innocent life.

Back in the 1980's I was a national officer in a college organization. I had met Ronald Reagan. When he was done talking to us, invited all of us present to hold hands and pray.

You and I know that it was the character of the man, the Reagan heart, which showed through; the principles that Ronald Reagan stood for is what defines him as an American hero.

Now, even after his passing there is a concerted effort to "excise" Ronald Reagan's strong pro-life message from the history of his administration. There are individuals--even Republicans--who either didn't understand or chose to oppose this great man's commitment to the founding principles of our Republic and the pre-eminence of "the right to life" as the structural foundation for sound and just government.

We see such opposition in efforts to change the Republican Party Platform, and in the advancement of candidates that aren't pro-life. We now have a strongly pro-life President in the White House. We have the opportunity to be proud of the party of Lincoln, and to be once again thankful and proud that we are Americans. George W. Bush believes that principles--not polls and personalities--should guide government. He believes that the right to Life is a core principle of our nation's government.

Ronald Reagan is the only President to publish a book while in office. That book, Abortion and the Conscience of the Nation, had gone out of print...but with the prodding of Judge William Clark, former chief of staff to Governor Reagan, former National Security Advisor and Secretary of the Interior, we have re-issued the work by President Reagan. Judge Clark, whom Edmund Morris, the official Reagan biographer, has called the "man spiritually closest to Ronald Reagan," has added his own essay to the President's.

In addition, Dr. Wanda Franz, President of the National Right to Life Committee, has presented an essay on the significance of the Reagan Administration.

And our own Brian Johnston explains the significance of Ronald Reagan's commitment to Life as it has been reflected in all just governments throughout history. The right to life is not a new idea.

We want Ronald Reagan's message to be remembered, and we want to help restore the policies he advocated.

We have received numerous requests for this work, but wanted to make sure you had a chance to get one, while supplies last.
